SERVICE PATTERN
Following extensive discussions with Churchwardens and P.C.C.’s, we are starting a modified service pattern from January, which will be reviewed after a few months to see how it is working. The main change is moving Newtown’s service from 11.15am (which clashes with Myddle’s 11.00am and is felt to be very late by the Newtown congregation) to 9.00am. This means that there will be a variety of service times in the group – generally 8.30 at Broughton, 9.00 at Newtown, 10.00 at Loppington and 11.00 at Myddle (this is differs on the 1st Sunday at Newtown & Loppington, and 2nd Sunday at Broughton - Burlton’s 9.45 services will be unaffected). The new arrangement should also give more flexibility with the clergy/lay ministry team. The general pattern will therefore be as follows:
1st Sunday
8.30 Holy Communion Broughton
9.45 Holy Communion Burlton
10.00 Family Service Newtown
11.00 ‘Come & Worship’ Loppington
11.00 Family Service Myddle
1st Monday 7.30 Healing Service Burlton
2nd Sunday
9.00 Family Communion Newtown
10.00 Holy Communion Loppington
11.00 Family Communion Myddle
3.00 Evensong Broughton
3rd Sunday
8.30 Holy Communion Broughton
9.45 Holy Communion Burlton
10.00 Holy Communion Loppington
11.00 Family Communion Myddle
4th Sunday
9.00 Family Communion Newtown
10.00 Holy Communion Loppington
11.00 Morning Worship Myddle
6.00 Evensong Broughton
5th Sunday
10.30 UNITED Holy Communion (each church by rotation)
Updates on our Building and Ceiling projects by Helen Lopez
Last month we had a wonderful United Service as we re-dedicated the completed building at Loppington, with John Hall our Archdeacon leading the prayer of dedication and preaching. It was lovely to see so many there – from the other churches in the group, as well as from Loppington community. It has been a long and at times fraught task in getting the building to its present beautiful state. Thank you to all who having given so generously and sacrificially to make it happen, and for the hardworking team who cleaned away the huge mount of plaster dust afterwards. Now the building once again bears witness to the love and commitment poured into it by so many people, a symbol of God’s presence in our community – it is your church, and we hope to use it more and more for the community. Although the building work is complete – there is still much to resource in the on-going ministry of the church, and we need all the help you can give – through your prayers, through your giving of finance, time and talents, through your encouragement. There is also much the church can give to the village – a strong partnership which I know we can build on!
